Where only little space is available to transport parts upwards, Z-belt conveyors with fixed bends of e.g. 75° are used. In order to ensure a safe standing even with such extreme conveying angles, the base frame, type LD 010 is recommended in many cases. Of course, the underframe can also be used for standard Z-belt conveyors with an angle adjustment range between 0° and 60°.
The underframe is fastened to the lower grooves of the belt conveyor guide profiles. Depending on the application, additional lateral, diagonal and crosswise struts may be used to provide a safe standing at all times. This is especially important for larger belt conveyors.
Conveyors of the design illustrated here are used in many different industries, e.g. in the plastics industry, in the sector of punching and forming technology, for the supply to and disposal from assembly and packing facilities, as well as for the linkage of several, successive processing steps.
Depending on the application, the selection of the belts, driver cleats, drive unit, as well as the underframe version, is done with the objective to achieve an optimum conveying result. For steep conveying angles in steep belt area covers, e.g. made of polycarbonate but also of aluminium, stainless steel or similar, are used to safely guide parts that are dropping back, where required. For delicate parts additional covers can be mounted in the steep belt area, which entirely prevent the parts from dropping back.
