Angled belt conveyors with long steep belt and with usually a rather short flat belt part are often equipped with an underframe of type LD 020. In this case, the flat belt hangs over freely. The close base frame of the underframe gives the belt conveyor a safe standing - also with wider conveyor belts and higher belt loads.
With longer flat belts this part either rests on the floor or additional supports will be mounted - optionally stationary or mobile. Hence, in many cases these angled belts are used where lower feeding heights are required.
Typical application cases therefore are in e.g. the plastics industry, if the conveyor belt shall be set up longitudinally, next to the machine and the parts are fed onto the conveyor belt via a chute or a QS-diverter. Such angled belts are also used on packing machines, in the blanking and punching industry, as chipping and splints belt conveyor in machine tools or as feeding belt e.g. for grinders of granulated materials.
