ESD-Compliant Conveyor

Task: ESD compliant transport of automotive components

Automotive components with integrated circuit boards have to be conveyed between two assembly lines
Main requirement to protect the sensitive products from damages caused by electrostatic charges. The conveyor needs to be made according to ESD regulations

Solution: Application of a highly conductive conveyor belt

Conveyor Type GL-HM 010 with special belt (highly conductive). The surface resistance of the belt is 185 Ohm and it also has an ATEX certificate according to category 2, KEMA 05ATEX2164 U (for comparison: a "normal" PU or PVC belt has a surface resistance of approx. 1 x 10 to the power of 15, EN-ISO 284 defines a value of maximum 3 x 10 to the power of 8 as antistatic).
